Severe thunderstorm northeast of Dalby moving east

Weather Situation: Isolated thunderstorm activity over southeast Queensland ahead of an upper trough amplifying over the southern inland.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 10:40 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near the area northeast of Dalby and Bell. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Mt Mowbullan, Cooyar and the area east of Dalby by 11:10 pm and the area south of Kingaroy, Yarraman and Nanango by 11:40 pm.

Damaging winds and large hailstones are likely. Accumulations of small hail are also possible.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
